Reddit Account Handoff Checklist: Stay Active After Purchase

Buying a Reddit account is only half the job. The risky part is the handoff — logging in for the first time, separating the session from older accounts, and warming activity slowly enough that Reddit’s filters stay quiet.

This checklist is written for UpvoteFactory marketplace buyers. Follow it in order. Skipping steps is how good accounts get linked or suspended.

Where to find your credentials

After checkout, open Accounts in the dashboard and switch to the Purchased tab. Expand a row with the arrow on the right to reveal username, password, and email details for that sale.

Keep those credentials private. Do not paste them into shared notes, browser sync, or third-party “account managers” you have not vetted.

Confirm the profile is live before you sign in

Marketplace listings are checked while they are for sale, but you should still verify the profile yourself before the first login.

Open the public profile on old Reddit:

Replace `USERNAME` with the account you bought.

• If the profile shows as suspended or unavailable: stop. Message support right away and do not attempt to log in. Once you log in, we cannot prove the account was already dead at purchase time, and replacements or refunds are not available for accessed accounts.
• If the profile loads normally: continue with login.

Some accounts force a password reset on first access. That is a Reddit anti-abuse response, not a broken order. Use the email shown in the purchase details (often reachable through a disposable mail viewer such as fakemailgenerator.com) to complete the reset if Reddit asks for it.

UpvoteFactory does not cover suspensions that happen after you have successfully accessed the account. Sold accounts are verified as active when listed. If a rare suspended listing slips through, open the purchase in your dashboard before logging in so access history can be inspected and, when appropriate, a replacement or refund issued.

Sign-in paths that reduce linking risk

Reddit correlates sessions aggressively. Shared cookies, shared apps, and noisy proxies are the usual failure modes.

Path 1 — Personal network (best for a small set of accounts)

If you only run a handful of accounts and do not plan a large farm, skip proxies. Home Wi‑Fi or mobile data is usually safer than a cheap VPN or residential pool Reddit already fingerprints.

Before the first login:

1. 1Sign out of every Reddit session on that device.
2. 2Clear Reddit site cookies and cache for the browser you will use. On Chrome, open site information next to the URL → Cookies and site data → remove Reddit entries, then clear cache.
3. 3Prefer a different browser for the new account than the one holding older logins. Same browser history is a common linking vector.
4. 4On mobile, uninstall and reinstall the Reddit app before signing into the new account. Multiple accounts left logged into one app install are treated as related.

Anti-detect browsers can help if you already know how to configure fingerprints and sticky sessions correctly. If you do not, they often make things worse — skip them until you do.

Path 2 — Proxy (only with high-quality sticky exits)

If you must use a proxy:

• Test the exit on a fingerprint checker (for example pixelscan.net) before Reddit login.
• Prefer stable sessions. Mid-session IP jumps look like session hijacking and trigger locks.
• Avoid consumer VPNs for Reddit ownership handoffs; most ranges are already labeled.

Low-quality rotating residential pools are a frequent cause of same-day suspensions after purchase.

Warm-up window

Do not treat a fresh handoff like an aged personal account.

Days 1–3: Browse, join communities, vote. No posts. No comments.

Days 4–7: Light comments in low-barrier subreddits. If karma is low, stay out of gated communities. Change password and email only after the account feels stable. Hold off on link posting.

Week 2+: Slowly introduce posts or comments that include links, if that is part of your use case.

Longer warm-ups are better. Nothing guarantees Reddit will keep the account, but rushing activity after a transfer is the fastest way to lose it.

Short version
